We are creating a sustainable future for women and families in every village by improving health outcomes, providing economic opportunities, and partnering with women to rebuild communities from the inside out.
At our local flagship site, Providence Clinic, our mission is to improve health outcomes by: providing year round access to preventative health care, offering free check ups at our annual medical mission, and implementing infrastructure projects.
Village CHI came to be in a seemingly unexpected way. Hear Dr. Ukamaka Oruche tell the story of how it all began.
Grace is 70 years old and had a stroke that left her with partial mobility. She wanted to walk and be independent. The cost of physical therapy was prohibitive for her family. She fought her way to the clinic using public transportation and arrived an hour before we closed. We provided physical therapy and gave her a new walking cane for greater balance and safe mobility.
